SBS 2003 to 2011 Migration

I am planning on migrating from a SBS 2003 to 2011 server. How long would you estimate it would take for 15 users? Also I am looking for a new router/firewall. Any recommendations?

I'm big on sonicwall tz series for smb use. No subscription no wifi for under $600.

Depends on what you're doing to migrate.  16 - 40 hours, depending on what technologies and line of business apps you use and if a professional does it or someone with no real experience does it.  If someone with no real experience, to COMPLETE the process DOUBLE that estimate.

I have completed several migrations all in 3 working days (with data / mailboxes being moved overnight).

If you have a ton of data, this might need to be increased, but so far even on the slowest of servers, the migration completed in the 3 days.

In terms of a Firewall / Router, my preferred device is anything with Draytek written on it.  Current favourite is the 2830n.

Also, don't bother with the MS migration article - I visited someone who followed it (with ISA server installed) and the migration was failing because they followed it.  They also had Demazter's Excellent guide, which they chose to part follow, then deferred to the MS one at the wrong point!!
