img does not display in ie 9

i use an img tag in html, the image shows in firefox, but not in ie, the ie is version 9. i think it has something to do with ie 9. does anyone know what it is? does ie 9 treat html differently now. i mean i can browse with it no problem. but trying to do my own site has a problem.

solved it.
the problem was that there was a width="" attribute with nothing in it. removed the width tag and it shows in ie.
