manually scavenge stale resource records (during the day)

I have a DNS server at our location which replicated to 6 other DC's, I would like to scavenge the stale resource records, can this be done during the day or something I am better of running at night? I plan to only do this at our location and then let it replicate out

Thanks

You can do it any time.  There's little or no overhead to the process.

That said, it's generally not necessary.  If you find yourself having to do it often, you may want to shorten the TTL for your records.

ASKER

its set to 7 days? so it sounds like I can run it with little or no impact to network performance? I have 7 forward lookup zones  (still no over head correct?) and this should be done on my main DNS server and it will be replicated so no need to visit each DNS server
