Removing the smtp banner from exchange 2003

I can modify the banner....i know there is way to remove the banner all together through the registry....what are the steps?

    Even if it were possible, it would make your server RFC non-compliant and you will most definitely have issues receiving mail.

    why do you want to remove SMTP banner of your exchange server. Any specific reason ?
    if you will remove banner from exchange there will be difficulties while receiving or sending mails.
