I have some questions about the size of a WSS 3.0 database

What is the size lilmit for a WSS 3.0 database?
I am looking at using file groups for a WSS 3.0 database. Is this recommended?
At what point would the size of the database impact the performance of SharePoint?

    Accepted Solution

If using sql express then the size limit is 4GB.
If full blown sql then the limit is when you run out of diskspace.

To my knowledge there is no support for multiple filegroups

How long is a piece of string? Hard to answer this question without the full picture but you could use quotas so that no single DB got too big
