I have a Google Apps Business account.  I have a private domain (  I also have (  I set up the last web address in Apps so that I can access the gmail by clicking on that site.  However the link just forwards me to a gmail web page.  Does Google Apps have a way for you to go to your actual website and check your mail? Or does it always re-route you to their website?
