mail server problem

hi i try to send email with php mail function and i got error in log of mail. The message never come to me. Before it works fine last few month stop working.

    Are you sure sendmail is listening on port 25?
    netstat -an|grep ':25'

    chkconfig --list sendmail
    chkconfig sendmail on
    /etc/init.d/sendmail start
    netstat -an|grep ':25'
