When ransomware hits your clients, what do you do?

MSPs: Endpoint security isn’t enough to prevent ransomware.
As the impact and severity of crypto ransomware attacks has grown, Webroot has fought back, not just by building a next-gen endpoint solution capable of preventing ransomware attacks but also by being a thought leader.

Microsoft acquired a company called Connectix in 2003, and rebranded their product Virtual PC.

Oracle has entered the Virtualisation market recently with Oracle VM is based on XEN, Citrix also have product based on Xen is open source and was relased in 2003.

Also by looking at the number of questions on EE realted to Virualisation, I think you'll find VMware, is probably No.1, with Desktop, Enterprise and Cloud Proucts.

VMware Server 2.0.2
VMware Player 3.1.4

I only mention stable products, people are having some issues with 4.0!

VMware Player 4.0 was released this week on the 4th Oct 2011!
http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/desktop_end_user_computing/vmware_player/4_0

It supports Windows 8, but other than that, much the same as 3.1.4.

i assume they have paid licenses too? what will it have more than the free licenses?

How is the free VMware vSphere Hypervisor different from paid editions of VMware vSphere? How can I upgrade?

VMware vSphere Hypervisor is available at no cost in order to help companies of all sizes experience the basic benefits of virtualization. Granting free access to vSphere’s basic hypervisor functionality enables IT professionals to become familiar with the technology and prove its value in their own companies. Unlike paid VMware vSphere Editions, the vSphere Hypervisor cannot be managed with vCenter or other management solutions. Management of vSphere Hypervisor hosts can only be done using the vSphere Client and connecting directly to the host.

VMware vSphere Hypervisor can be seamlessly upgraded to more advanced editions of vSphere. Simply upgrade the free license to the desired upgraded vSphere license to take advantage of advanced vSphere functionally including centralized management, live migration of virtual machines, automatic load balancing, business continuity, power management, and backup and restore capabilities for virtual machines. VMware vSphere is available in multiple editions, including two kits specifically designed for small businesses. A reason for moving to a paid kit or edition is that you can take advantage of the vSphere management server, called VMware vCenter Server, to enable centralized management.

Hyper-V and Oracle VM are free.

VMware is the WORLD LEADER, no they do not offer anything that VMware offers, but they are catching up slowly.
