select * from msdb..sysssispackages
Invalid object name 'msdb..sysssispackages'.

select * from msdb..sysssispackagefolders
Invalid object name 'msdb..sysssispackagefolders'.

the above is on 2005.

select * from msdb..sysdtspackages is fine both on 2005 & 2000

>>SSIS packages can be stored in the database or in the file system. dtx packages could also be stored in the file system.

so both 2000 and 2005 can be stored purely in file system or purely in msdb, right?
