SSL web

Hi,
i am hosting sharepoint with SSL on port 443.
I was told to create another public portal, below is the scenario.

My sharepoint web is: https://sharepoint.contoso.com (i get no cert error since the beginning until now).
I created another public portal https://ABC.UK.SP.contoso.com under port 19837
Because port 19837 is under http. So i create HTTPS under port 19838 and bind my SSL. but i am getting cert error. Can somebody assist me please?

You are probably receiving a server name mismatch error:

http://www.digicert.com/ssl-support/certificate-name-mismatch-error.htm

Unless you have a wildcard SSL certificate that supports *.contoso.com, you need a second SSL certificate for the fully qualified domain name of ABC.UK.SP.contoso.com.

Hi,
yes i am using a wildcard *.contoso.com
so i cant use the same cert? because ABC.UK.SP.contoso.com << this is also contoso.com, i dont understand why my wildcard cant be used? can you guide me?

Hmm... yes the wildcard should work. Can you view and paste the SSL error in here?

Hi, please ignore previous reply. The certificate error says:
Mismatched address

The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.
The problem might indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you sent to the server.
We recommend that you close this webpage.

Can you view the certificate details and verify the wildcard has been assigned?

When you are able to view the certificate error, can you also click to see details or click to view the certificate?

Is the certificate the wildcard? Does the "Issued To" match the server name in the URL?

julisantoAuthor Commented:
hi,
the certificate is issued to *.contoso.com

Does the "Issued To" match the server name in the URL?

julisantoAuthor Commented:
my website is ABC.UK.sp.contoso.com, so my cert should be correct.
my main site https://sharepoint.contoso.com does work perfectly fine.

So there are no redirects happening? What is in the URL matches the wildcard in the cert?

The error would point to no.

julisantoAuthor Commented:
No, there is no redirection at all. Yes the cert should match the URL because of same domain name.
i am so confuse about this >.<

I have got the answer by calling to Godaddy.
the wildcard that i have is a single domain for unlimited subdomain (1 level) only.
but the portal that is having error is multiple subdomain, so it wont work.
