I can't remember rule.  ARG!  I have a share the share  has everyone full control.  The security tab... If I leave that alone, take out the users and just have ntfs on the folders everyone will have access but they won't be able to get into the individual folders they don't have permission to right?

Basically I need everyone to have access to the share.. No one should be able to create folders on the root, and designated users need to be able to gain access to the folders designated to them.

If you remove Everyone then no one will be able to list the folders but the Username that Created it only.

So you need to be granular, add the users you want to have access there and clear Full Control Box and leave (List) only.

On the security tab?  Just have everyone list and give the administrator full control? I'm not talking about the share I'm talking about the security tab after the share.

Correct, then add the users that need read/write permissions and assign their rights the way you want.

List - Will see folders only
Read & Execute - Will be able to open Folders
Modify - will be able to make changes but not delete.
