Exchange Motorola droid Duplicate emails Syncing issue

Ok, So this is weird to me.
I have a exchange user connecting via a Motorola droid. Recently she started turning her machine off at night and found that while her computer was off she was not getting emails on her phone.
The phone is set via motorolas corporate email client. There is no software on the computer to sync the phone with outlook. Yet she was getting no email on the phone until she logged into outlook on the PC.
This client uses PoPCon pop3 connector on a sbs2008 server. I went looking through all the settings and found that her account in the popcon software was set to pull her mail from the pop3 server but it wasnt set to deliver it anywhere. It was delivering her mail to the catchall account. and yet she was still getting all her email in exchange... weird.
I fixed this setting and suddenly her phone worked. I had thought, yay, problem solved.
Unfortunately now, she gets all her emails at night, reads them deletes them or saves them for morning as unread... and when she turns her computer on outlook has all the things she has done on the phone, read, deleted, left unread, all exactly as it should be but also downloads a duplicate of everything and then those duplicates show up on her phone again.

Any ideas?
