My SQLAGENT$SHAREPOINT service won't start and the Event log is full of the message:

Event Type:      Error
Event Source:      Windows SharePoint Services 2.0
Event Category:      None
Event ID:      1000
Date:            10/7/2011
Time:            9:23:19 AM
User:            N/A
Computer:      CORSAIR
#50070: Unable to connect to the database STS_Config on CORSAIR\SharePoint.
Check the database connection information and make sure that the database server is running.

What are you using to try and connect to it?

Use SQL Server Studio, connect to the Instance with an admin account, you will then see your databases, see if that one is showing online.

I'm using the SQL Management Studio.
