Roaming profile folder permissions
I have a Server 2008 R2 server running active directory. I am having profile folder issues. The folders are setup as follows:
Data
student
2012
2013
2014
2015
folder_redirect
2012
2013
2014
2015
Depending on what year they graduate the student profile folders are in either 2012,2013,2014 or 2015. Their redirect_folder should be in folder_redirect\2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015. If I let the server create the profile folders, I do not have access to their files. I must have access to their files. Can someone please tell me the file permissions for each folder/layer? Do I have to remove any files from the client computer??

What is going to happen if and when the student signs into the profile from the student computer if:
there are student files on the computer and not the server profile?
there are student files on the computer and older files on the server profile?
there are student files on the computer and newer files on the server profile?

Never really answered.
Not sure why you would need to delete any files on the client. Sometimes we run into profile issues where we need to delete a corrupted profile on the server or workstation to have it re-sync one way or the other. The only issue might be is if you need to reorganize or move any of the profile to another directory. You may need to coordinate a reboot on the workstations, because they will not get the updated profile path location until a reboot. Hope this helps.
