"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you trying to migrate all data from SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 (one old server to a new server presumably)?

If so you need to reload the SBS 2011 box in migration mode and use an answer file. Use the link below to for specific steps to migrate. There is a bit of prep work you need to do on your 2003 box before you start the migration process.

Make sure to read the entire document. There is quite a bit of work to migrate, but probably less work than setting up a new domain and migrating 50 computers and mailboxes.

To specifically answer your intiial question about AD and Exchange - if you have SBS 2011 installed then AD and Exchange are installed already. You would need to run through the install/config tasks in teh SBS Console to complete the setup.

You asked how you install AD and Exchange. If you installed SBS 2011 on the new box then AD and Exchange are already installed.

To configure, open the SBS console and from the Home Tab complete all the Getting Started tasks.

Again, run through the "Getting Started" tasks in the SBS Console. They will guide you through the rest of the basic configuration of Exchange. Once you're done with the Tasks let me know if you have any other questions.
