sbs essentials doesn't have exchange at all, it is built to use Microsoft online services and microsoft online does support what you are looking for but, it would means you are going to be using a hosted version of exchange and not your own

Can anyone point me in the right direction to estimate the licence cost for multi-tenant SBS 2011?<br />

It will likeley have 6 companies and a total of around 50 users. Also, is there an upper limit of companies/users? <br />

The only aspect of SBS that that is important to this exersise is the availability of separate Global Address Lists for each company. Users from one company must not be able to see users from another company in GAL/network/ any other area.<br />
