Exchange Global File does not update contacts

Should Exchange update list in Active Directory after changes are made to "Contact" or "domain" (users with email addresses on our network) entries. I can see some of the the changes when I go to Outlook and look at the Global Address Book, but I don't see those changes in Active Directory list. I have to open the entry to see the change.

I have updated the Recipient Update Service, rebuild the Offline Address Book, refreshed the OAB in Outlook. Still these entries do not show up. Even though I don't see the changes or additions in Outlook Address Book, I can see the changes and additions if I try to send a message from Outlook. Outlook will look up the name and insert the address, but it does not show in the OAB. Most of these changes that are not appearing in OAB are external contacts I have setup. Also, any changes I make to external contacts do not show up in Active Directory or OAB, but does appear when I try to use them in a new message.

I found a solution to Outlook. I had to uncheck Use Cached Exchange Mode in Outlook. I an now see the changes in Outlook. Still cannot see the changes in Active Directory.

Yes if the Cache mode was enabled then it was causing the issue
Your issue must be resolved as the OAB will directly sync with Exchange online.
