need to be able to connect to a 2003 R2 servier that has a program on it that is accessable to via telnet. We can do this internally via a terminal emulator program like power term. What we need to be able to do is connect to it  remotely. AND with multiple users AT THE SAME TIME.. How can we do that the quickest way possible.??/

the current config we have is a SonicWall t170
Then a 2008 sbs email server as domain controller
Also have a 2003 R2 terminal server in the mix. if we can use it somehow
AND the 2003 R2 that we need to get to from the Field
Don't know much about the SonicWall to try anything there, need help in LAYMANS TERMS

Forward ports 23 from the wan interface to the Lan interface ip address of the server you wan to telnet into and ports 3389 for RDP

Is your SonicWALL running Standard or Enhanced firmware?

If just Standard, then a basic NAT rule to forward EXTERNAL ip address port 23 to INSIDE ip address port 23 of that server.

If Enhanced firmware, then you need to create a NAT POLICY allowing port 23 traffic on EXTERNAL IP and fowarded to INTERNAL IP of that server.  Telnet traffic type

You also then need a firewall rule allowing telnet from WAN > LAN for Telnet type traffic.

That sucks, I don't want to burn public addresses for the Girls to play online games.

If 1 to 1 NAT is the only way an xbox will work then i guess the Girls will not be getting their Call of Duty and Halo fixes LOL.

ks admin, not sure exactly how to set up on the sonicwall. looks like it is running standard firmware and that the existing RDP ports that DO WORK are under "firewall" routes them from wan to  ip of workstation. but only two work anymore since upgrade to 2008 sbs from 2003 sbs.

Also i still have not heard if i can have MULTIPLE people logged in AT THE SAME TIME..using any of these ideas.
i need someone who knows the sonicwall inside and out to help me step through it.
with sonicwall tz170 setup using one that does work via rdp i setup a new one the very same way, make sure the workstation is setup correctly using 3389 etc. but the new one does not work...

really need an answer as to the MULTIPLE users remotly, Can it be done? Don't want to have to have a workstation dedicated for each laptop to login RDP to it..That is why i was looking for easiest option to route to the server in question..
