Try going into Site Settings, and under Site Administration, click Sites and workspaces.<br />
<br />
In the menu, click Site Creation Permissions.<br />
<br />
If you select Contribute as the permissions to create Workspaces, does that get you by?

Hi Everyone,<br />

I have a company-wide common Site Collection in SharePoint 2010 that everyone accesses. It has the compnay calendar. In order to get all the functionality out of the calendar that we want, I can only do it by granting users Full Control to the entire Site Collection. I HATE doing that.<br />

Is there no way to grant everyone Contribute to the Site Collection and Full Control to only the Calendar?<br />
