Can anyone explain the meaning of these top 5 events in my STATSPACK report ?

    Explain how?  These should be defined in the online docs.

    what I mean to ask is the meaning of these events. e.g. what is the meaning of db file parallel write ? and how should I avoid this ?

    Did you look in the docs?

    This is 11g docs but many of these parameters haven't changed:

    What makes you think you need to avoid this?  There always will be a top 5 list.  This does not mean they are 'bad'.  You need to look at them and make the decision based on the database and the applications using the database.

    This might be normal database activity.
