Outlook 2010 Preview Issue with any Word, Excel, PDF, documents

I have a client that is having an issue with the built in previewer in outlook 2010 she has office 2001 installed for all of her other applications but has upgraded her Outlook to 2010.  the first few months everything worked fine but then her attachment preview stopped working.  There is not a lot out there on this issue that I can find that is all that helpful.

Troubleshooting Steps
Their was a Microsoft hot fix for terminal server that replaced a DLL that did not work.
Looked for all MS Updates.
Repaired Outlook and also Office 2007.
and yes her computer is plugged in :P

Please see Screen Shot below of her outlook preview window.

any help or experience with this issue would be a big help.

I would either put Outlook 2007 back or upgrade Office to V2010. In theory the mix should work, but since you have done the repairs, I would uninstall all and go to Office 2010. I had V2007 complete and now V2010 complete and the preview does not fail. Also Outlook likes to use Word as the editor and there is a different version here.

Although Office Suites 2000,2001,2003,2007,2010 can all be installed concurrently
They are really not compatible with mixed versions of office applications
From Memory, dont think MS even supports Mixed Office suites.

Doing so can cause various issues and limit individual applications functionality

As Thinkpads said, you need to have all or none.

However, you could try the Vista and Office 2007 Previewer Pack
http://www.mydigitallife.info/free-download-vista-and-office-2007-preview-handler-pack-to-support-more-file-types/

But cannot gurantee it will work.

If it works great, but know you may find another undesireable issue(s) down the road

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

for the following reason:

There was not any technical fix for this issue.  if you have this same issue then upgrade or downgrade to same versions of MS Office

I also suggested the same solution origninally (go to Office 2010). ... thinkpads_User
