On a HP StorageWorks MSA2000 configured with RAID6, on hard drive failed. We replaced it with an identical disk (300GB) and hope the system we take it into account and rebuild. Does it work like that? Does it take took long to rebuild?

    Accepted Solution

Yes it works like that, can take several hours.
The disk will slowly blink in green while it is rebuilding
I suggest you use HP Array Configuration Utility to check the rebuild % in progress.

    Assisted Solution

Rebuild complete ? ACU utility should not display any warning anymore. You can confirm your array is ok now.

I noted that the disk is still active and its status is "degraded".  looks like a frameware update is required
