The root cause if taht the SQL Agent was not running. Once I manually started this service, the error went away. Of course, I later restarted the machine to ensure the full recovery. Thank ou all for responding to my questions.<br />

I have a SQL 2008 R2 installed in my home. I have not accessed it for several months. When I try to access it this morning, the SQL Server management Studio does not allow me to expand the &quot;Database&quot; and 'Managment&quot;. However, I can see the database int he dropdown list of the databases, I can create the new query with intelliSense. <br />

Anyone can help me on this? I tried to see the SQL Sever Error Log, but hte Management is not expandable.<br />

I have a SQL 2008 R2 installed in my home. I have not accessed it for several months.
