How to Show a Message on Desktop

On the Win XP Desktop I wold like to show the user name, I.P. address, and other information on the desktop. I do not want to use a flash screen or anything that would replace the desktop configuration. An opened Wordpad Document, or something of that sort would be good.  The information does not have to be dynamic.

If you don't want to change the desktop configuration then you may not want to use BGInfo but it is the best solution for this and uses minimal resources.
If you want a non-desktop solution then you could run a VBS script to get the same information and output it to a notepad file - it's a much less elegant solution though.
