archive and local pst

what difference it makes default server pst with automatically archiving and making default personal folder pst
2 Solutions
Are you tallking abotu with Exchange or with a POP3 or IMAP.  if doesn't make much of a difference with IMAP or POP, but when you're talking about Exchange, Outlook actually creates a files called and OST (or offline storage file)  When you archive is creates a PST.
Actaully an Archive can be setup to automatically move your OLD Emails off to a PST in your specified location

A PST or Personal Folder you create in OUtlook
This person folder you usually have open and currently work in it.
Ideally you would save the majority of your emails in your Inbox into your personal folders

Think of this one a more manual process. Although you can setup rules to automatically move emails from your inbox into folders in your personal folder
