Windows 7 Documents file location tab missing

I have a windows 7 pro user that reported his documents folder being empty.
I connected expecting to simply click on the folder location tab and redirect it back to the network but that tab was missing.
Looking for a solution to restore the user's default document folder to his local profile, then redirect that to his user directory on the network which does contain all of his documents.

If you right click the documents folder, you can change the location on the Location tab. You need to right click the folder directly though - right clicking the folder from the library won't show you the location tab.

I am right clicking on it directly.  That's the issue.  That tab is missing.

What tab's are you seeing?

No file location tab.

Assuming you don't have a group policy that's already redirecting the folder, you can always go into the registry to get it changed:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
and here...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Before you try that, though, you may want to try disabling UAC and/or making sure you're trying this as an admin.

Just curious - which solution ultimately did you end up going with?
