Yes, this questions has been asked a million times, but I couldn't find an updated article.
There are tons of Hosting-Review sites online, but I'm interested in hearing from you personal experiences.

We were part of the Tiger-M@te defacement in September at InMotionHosting and need to find a different hosting solution.

I'm in the US and the 4 sites I have get < 1500 visits a month.

Maybe you like to take a look at they offer a cloud based hosting service, where you only pay the fees for the resources used. At least it offers you the same flexibility like the amazon cloud service while providing you with the luxury that you do not have to care for the server administration. Currently the best option on the market if you ask me and also recommended from Facebook to their developers for developing Facebook Apps.

i have used ipage ( and Hostgator (

iPage try to cheat you by saying that its 2.95 dollars a month but at the end of the year at the time of renewal they will add new price tag to it, informing you about the high maintenance cost of your website. Plus the downtime is more on iPage as compared to Hostgator which is 0 so far in my case

Hostgator provides an excellent service, very helpful and support is excellent. Then even transfer your website for free from the previous hosting company with zero charges. Plus so far i had no downtime. If hostgator says its unlimited bandwidth and unlimited space, they mean it while iPage dont allow you to host video or audio files, even if you have the copyrights for those files
I am at hostgator and can give you 25% discount on any of the available packages but dont know if EE will allow it

But i would still say, go for Hostgator
