Microsoft Office

I need to remove a address from my Microsoft Outlook addresses.  I already changed the user name on the server but it still shows up in the address. How do I get rid of it?

If you are using Exchange pop then you need to change it on your email setup by doing the following:

Assuming you use windows 7
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Click on Mail > Email Accounts
3. Double click the email account in question and ensure that your email is correct there.

If you are not running pop. Simply change your existing alias or add the new one, and then update your GAL by doing the following:

Assuming you are using Exchange 2010:
Now do the same as above to update your All Groups:
1. Go to the EMC > Organization Configuration > Mailbox Node > Offline Address book tab and click update on the Default OAB,
2. Restart “Microsoft Exchange File Distribution” service
3. Force Outlook updating OAB.
Restart Outlook or press “Send/Receive” and click “send/Receive Groups” and click “Download Address Book”
Do you mean it is appearing in the Outlook windows as you type something similar in?

If so, this is the autocomplete feature (stored in an NK2 file).

This shows how to remove a contact from Outlook 2010, the process is similar for older verions:

You can delete address from your contacts only but you can't delete address from GAL list. So just delete it from your contacts and update your GAL with server it will be sync with server

I changed the user name to say something else, but the GAL still shows the name as an option.  I can't remove them from the global address list so how do I get rid of the name in the GAL.
