Can a vlan interface strip a QOS tag?

If a switch is configured for QOS but the vlan interfaces are not configured for QOS is it possible for the vlan interface to strip the QOS tag?

The VLAN Interface will only strip off any layer 2 QoS markings (COS  bits) you have when it strips the layer 2 header from the packet, but it should leave the layer 3 QoS Markings (DSCP Values, IP Precedence Values) in the layer 3 header of the packet.
