WebVPN TCP forwarding

I am looking at possible solutions to secure traffic between a Citrix Server (or similar) to clients on an unsecure network (internet). I am wondering if forwarding traffic to the Citrix server from the WebVPN server would work?

For example, Clients connect by use of WebVPN and authenticate, traffic is then forwarded to the Citrix where another Authentication will occure and then applications are accessible through the Citrix interface.

Would this be at all possible? Haven't found any documentation to support this completely so hoping someone here can clarify this a little for me.

Thanks

I've had many clients that have a Citrix Web Interface server on the LAN to allow access internally by browsing to a simple URL. They've then VPN'd in and connected to the same URL and as it traverses the web in a tunnel, it's secure.

Alternatively, you could investigate an Access Gateway - Citrix do a free version which is a virtual appliance (VPX Express I think - I seem to recall it's for 25 concurrent connections, but it might less so worth checking).

This has a few benefits, such as simplicity and an ability to publish applications to most iDevices/Droids etc.

Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the Access Gateway but to me it looks as though it doesn't encrypt client to server traffic?  I noticed there was a HTTP to HTTPS redirect but then again I am uncertain if that will encrypt traffic over the internet or not.

It does - it does full end-to-end encryption.

If you had the money, in fact, the latest NetScaler's (think CAG on huge amounts of steroids) have just had a boost to 2048 bit encryption from 1024.

Interesting!!!

You wouldn't by chance have a link to documentation regarding this? As I have obviously not found it.
