Broadcom 802.11n driver

I have an Acer Aspire 4741G with a Broadcom Wireless Adapter. The adapter worked with Windows 7 but I now have Windows 2008 R2 installed and no matter which version of the driver I install including the Vista ones which I presume should work for Windows 2008 the adapter never gets enabled.

The driver installation succeeds and the driver shows up as working properly but when I try to enable a Wireless connection the adapter remains disabled.
The hardware ID of the adapter is 14E4&DEV4357&SUBSYS_E021105B

Windows diagnostics does not detect any problems.

I am stumped. Any suggestions??

Excellent thanks! Foolish of me not to take a look at the roles/features previously especially when I did the same for Audio services
