How to set the maximum smtp line lenght with Outlook 2010 clients and Exchange 2003 SP2 server

Hi,

For outgoing mail we use a spamfilter (SpamExperts). Lately some email is bounced in this filter because of maximum line lenght exceeded. The maximum line lenght in the spamfilter is set to 1000.

How can I limit either Outlook 2010 or the Exchange 2003 server to respect this limit so that my mail is not getting bounced?

I have found this: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/email/to-control-line-length-in-internet-messages/ , but that is not working if you have an Exchange server.

I hope someone can help. I'm not looking to change the smart host.

Thank you,
Ray

Line wrapping does not appear as expected when you send e-mail messages in Outlook 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823921

Note:
Change the value to
HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\MailSettings - Outlook 2010

Want to try adding both the registry values:
wraplines -- Dword -- 0
plainwraplen -- dword -- 0 to 998

Thanks,

The problem still occurs sometimes. I can't find a pattern. I have lifted the enforcement from the spam-filter, which solves the problem, but not how I would like to see it.

Kind regards,
Ray
