ASP.net Site.Master color change doesn't filter through

In my ASP.net 4 project I changed the color of the header image at the top of the page in my Site.Master file and this didn't change all the other pages that depend on the Site.Master as expected. Changes the text works. I changed the CSS property

can you explain more, for example by meaning "as expected", do you mean "it made a change in all pages, but it was not as i expected" or "it didnt make any change" or "it changed some pages but some pages remain the same".

also placing previous and current versions of the code could help

Hi
When I change the Site.Master header color, it appears to change the other pages to the same color, but the minute I run in debug mode or publish it goes back to the old color
