My network consisted of a 2003 DC, and 2008R2 DC(Primary) running in mixed mode, I added a 3rd DC (2008R2) 1 week ago with the intent or eventually removing the 2003 DC.  I added a service account to the 2008 DC today for AD FS 2.0 and after that both of my 2008R2 DC ge the message "the security database on the server does not have a computer account".  I removed them from the AD and tried to reinstall them and I get the same message.  I then even totally reloaded 1 of the machines from scratch and after joining the domain again I still get the same message.

Please help,

Dave

also, both 2008R2 DC were upgraded to SP1 over the weekend ... not sure if that has anything to do with it.  The 2008R2 DC that I reloaded does not have the SP1 updates reloaded yet

I figured out what happened, when i ran the setspn command for some reason it must have made a duplicate entry in the AD which is what knocked everything offline.  I ran the setspn -d to remove the entries and now I do not get the error ... however the problem now is that from all the reading that I have done to get it to reattach to the domain I need to detach and reattach the DC which means demoting it as a DC.

After doing what my post above said and restarting the machine I was able to get the primary DC back online and then I was able to add the second *R@ DC to the domain.

The first response was quick ... however after speaking with other that I know in the field as well we were able to fix the problem with the same information provided to the experts, time since I responded until now ... over 6 hours ... I joined experts exchange because I though that other would be able to promptly answer my question ... I have asked 2 question so far and I solved both of them with no help from any of your experts.
