I am currently using classic ASP and I was hoping I could get a question answered:

What happens if I do not close a database connection or a recordset?  Will the database connection and recordsets get automatically closed at the end of the classic ASP script?

    Accepted Solution

Do database connections close automatically .. The answer for this yes and no...

Yes they get closed automatically after a time out
No they don't get closed automatically at the end of the classic ASP script

Also note If you do not close your database connections, many problems can occur like web pages hanging, slow page loads, and more.
