Is there a function/analytical in oracle that converts a comma seprated string to rows - ? I am using oracle 11

    no, nothing built in  - at least, nothing general purpose

    search EE or  for str2tbl

    The DBMS_UTILITY can provide some of that functionality.

    Take a look at what this person was able to do:

    that's what I meant by "nothing general purpose"

    that returns a collection type (associative array),  not "rows"

    however, you could iterate through the array and return a nested table collection to export as "rows"
