Exchange 2003 coexisting with Exchange 2010 Public Folders

Experts,

We need help with exchange 2003 public folder replication with exchange 2010. Public folder replication has already been setup and exch 2010 see all updates from exch 03, but when users update public folders on exch 2010, users on exch 03 do not see them. It seems that replication works only one way. Is this true? We have about 250 users and only about 40% are moved over to the new exch 2010. Until we move the rest over, we still need our users on exchange 2003 to see updates in their public folders. Your prompt assistance is greatly appreciated.

Even tough the folders are replicated to exchange 2010 users can see the folders from any exchange no matters where the user is. Have you verified the same with OWA, check if you are able to access public folders from OWA also investigate in event logs at exchange 2003 and 2010 servers for any issues and post the results.

Exchange 2010 users are able to see all entries and updates from 2003. Our issue is that exchange 2003 users can't see updates or entries from 2010 users.

Is users from Exchange 2003 are not able to see public folders from OWA also?

Problems using Powershell and Active Directory?

Managing Active Directory does not always have to be complicated.  If you are spending more time trying instead of doing, then it's time to look at something else. For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why

Yes, same on OWA. Users on 2003 only see other 2003 updates,  but not 2010 entries. 2010 see all updates.

I believe in this situation the free busy data is also not exchangable between both 2003 and 2010 users, Update exchange 2010 server with latest windows updates and patches. Install all latest exchange rollups and service packs.

I think it's a bug on exchange 2003. Our exchange 2010 has the lastest and greatest updates already. This is not urgent, but it was just nice to have workaround or fix until we migrate everyone to the new exchange 2010 server.

Yes you are right its a bug in coexistance scenario, if you have microsoft support, call them for this and they will provide a separate patch for this, I already faced this issue at my environment and MS has provided the patch after installing the patch it is working  fine for me.

we don't have ms support and most likely not put any financial resources towards it. Do you have the patch by any chance? Or a link that was provided by MS?

The workaround is just have the 2003 users update the public calendars.
