coming from a classic asp background, I understand that user controls are basically a set of web controls that are wrapped so that you can reuse in other web it like an include from asp?

    Accepted Solution

Well functional yes but technically its bit more complicated. With include files, the contents of include file are dumped in place of the include but with user controls, ASP.NET runtime makes sure the dependencies of the user control are loaded before the control etc.
