Lync 2010 - Presence/Status - Policy not applying

Hey,

I am trying to apply a policy to add additional status in Lync 2010.

I followed this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398997.aspx
and completed the steps without error. But the status' are not showing up..

To test the policy was applied correctly, I changed the "enable appear offline" option and that worked so I am nto sure why the XML settings are not being trasnfered to the client.

Is there anything else I need to do, I would perfer not to have to change any registy settings onthe client side but I can do that if needed.

You'll need to disable EnableSIPHighSecurityMode in the registry of each client in order to allow Lync to use the custom .xml file properly.

Take a look at the directions in this blog article, there is a bit more details than the TechNet instructions (which is missing an important step):
