    To do this, In OUtlook
    Go to Tools>Options>
    Preferences Tab>Email Options>Advanced Email Options

    Under "When a new item arrives in my Mailbox"

    Untick play a sound

    Tools > Options... > E-mail Options... > Advanced E-mail Options... > uncheck Play a sound
