Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL

My web site and administration panel is producing the following message when I open them, Database Error: Unable to connect to the database: Could not connect to MySQL,

I have no idea when this message appeared but I found it yesterday. The web site is www.townsvilepilots.com.au it is Joomla based. I have no backup of the data base so a reinstall is not possible at this stage, any help would be appreciated.

Regards, Chris

in order to have command prompt you need to have ssh with your server.
If its a dedicated server then you probably have otherwise ask your host to do it for you

Server is not dedicated but I can log into using Cpanel. I’ll check if I have SSH enabled and report back.

Thank you all for assisting in solving this problem, I contacted the hosting provider and they responded with this
“The password the site was using to access MySQL was incorrect. I've updated the password and put the new password in the config file. I believe this was the result of an update enforcing a password security policy, though I am not sure”.
