Hi experts!

I still use VB6 it serve me very well. Let me describe more my problem. I have a grid which already use left and right click and its  dbl click, but I need more! In the past there middle button in the mouse, what happen with it ? I do not see it in today mouses, but they usually have click with track boll. Not scroll, I mean click down over track ball.

So my question is – how to catch such click? I try with mouse_down, there is vbMiddleButton look that it not function, I can get only left and right click. More, I try this except with VB6 with MS C# 2008 and here is same story, I ‘m able to catch only Left and right buttons.

So I have 2 questions:
1.      Look to me that the Microsoft cancel middle button support. True or not?
2.      How to capture in VB6 buttons different than left and right ? May be it functioning, but I try with 3 different model mouse and result is same – just left and right click.

My solution should work in both XP and Win 7.

    Assisted Solution

I have never had such a mouse, but I seem to recall that it does the same job as left and right click simultaneously.

When the event for one button fires, try checking the status of the other button.

    Accepted Solution

dvplayltd--Does your mouse have a middle scroll wheel?  That should function as a middle button if the correct drivers are installed.  Did your mouse come with an installation CD?  That should contain the drivers you want.  Or go to the site of the mouse's manufacturer and see if Downloads or Drivers are offered

dvplayltd--Yes, that is an expensive mouse.
I see it has a middle scroll wheel.  There also seems to be a little button just to the rear of the scroll wheel.  Its action should  be controlled by the drivers but maybe it is just decoration.  If you are saying that little button is no longer working now when it did before, then maybe you are still covered by the 3-year warranty.

You should have a software CD.  Try reinstalling the software. Once the software is installed you should be able to program the wheel and all buttons from Start|All Programs.
