Can I use an Open License Key on MAPS media?

I have a client who has bought SBS 2011 via Open License, but needs the media.

I have a MAPS with SBS 2011 media - will the OL key go in and activate?

The implication from Microsoft is no, you can't:
"Volume Licensing CDs (Microsoft Product CDs that you purchase through your reseller) will be the only media available for multiple installations under the terms of an Open License agreement."

I just wanted to know really if the key would go in and activate properly -the option to get the media posted takes up to 5 days and we are doing the installation at the weekend!
I take that back, the sentence here: "Use the appropriate Volume License Key instead of the product key that was previously located on the Volume Licensing or MSDN CD packaging." from the same link clearly says that a volume licensing key and MSDN media is a valid combination - do you have media that was posted or an ISO downloaded from the MSPPDD page?
ISO that was downloaded :)
The media I have is SW_DVD9_NTRL_Win_Small_Bus_Svr_Std_2011_64Bit_English_FPP_VL_X16-93854.ISO

Thanks - it's our ONLY option right now anyway. Its not for me, it's for a business "friend" which I am just trying to help out.
