How to keep to two folders to mirror each other in real time?

I'm looking for a way to keep to two folders to mirror each other in real time.  I've used robo copy in the past to do a one way sync, but not sure how I can mirror these two folders in real time / both ways.

Any suggestions?

Do you need a tool? Or are you looking for a way off doing this yourself (batch, C#, java...)

The "unelegant" way would be to create a batch file as a scheduled task.  This would not be "real time" but could be close. It really depends on how much changes occur limiting how often the task runs. If the data rarely changes then you could scedule it to run more often yet if it changes frequently then you would have to schedule the runs further apart beause the program will take longer to run.

We used to use a program called ActiveSync to do this with our DR site however we ran into an issue that if you deleted a file from either end it would come back due to its existance on the other end.  I never found a product that addressed this issue so I quit trying a few years ago. There may be one available now.

You should create a watch service.
Check java.nio.file that provides with a a file notification API.

MirrorFolder will, amongst other things, do real-time mirroring at the system leve as it can look directly at file read-writes. Small changes to e.g. large databases will result in only the changed bytes being written to the mirror.

Thanks guys, but I ended up using a program called ViceVersa.  I've used it in the past and seems to be doing what I need it to do.
