Flash Issue

Please look at http://tchristy.net/videos/test_video.htm

Note that there is a Flash Video that plays. This is just a test. The code is included in the code window:

I want to have the "real" programs not in the folder videos but one level up.

I adjusted the file reference locations, but it doesn't work. See http://tchristy.net/videos.php

Notice it says "Buffering 0%" forever.

The code for videos.php is attached.

What's wrong?

You can try to change FLAHVARS by moving oner directory up or set a absolute URL

<param name="FlashVars" value="flv=../Joining_PVC_Pipe_and_Fittings_with_Christy_s_Red_Hot_Blue_Glue.flv&width=320&height=240&autoplay=0&autoload=0&buffer=5&playercolor=000000 &loadingcolor=9b9a9a&buttoncolor=ffffff&slidercolor=ffffff" />

Where are you seeing videos/videos? That is not in the php file I sent. I also did view source; there is a SINGLE videos

To dgofman:

I changed the folder name to video (singular), I thought it might have been confused because the php file was named videos.php.

Same result.

I suppose I can put the video in the same folder, I was just trying to keep things organized.

I would think it could handle a subfolder. Maybe not??

Thanks

Did you changed location of your Joining_PVC_Pipe_and_Fittings_with_Christy_s_Red_Hot_Blue_Glue.flv
 file?

I renamed the folder to video (instead of videos). I posted a message to you regarding that.

I thought there might be confusion because the php program was called "videos.php" and the folder was "videos"

Ok this HTML should work for anyone

just create a new HTML file in notepad and save as HTML and run on IE

<html>
<head>
<title>Test</title>
</head>
<body>
<object id="Object1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="player_flv_mini.swf" width="320" height="240">

To dgofman:

I copied that code & made an HTML file. Look at http://tchristy.net/flash_test.htm

Don't know what you were expecting, that's not what I had in mind.

I'm going to go ahead & copy all the stuff that's in the video folder into the base folder & modify the php. I will leave the video folder there in case you come up with any way to make it work.

I can only conclude that flash cannot run a flash file that's not in the same folder with the HTML.

A strange restriction, but oh well..............

I am awarding you the points because of effort.

I am surprised that a Flash video can't be played on an HTML page when the video is in a different folder.
