lenovo thinkpad T400 inbuilt mouse pad not working

Hi guys,
I have lenovo thinkpad T400. Inbuilt mouse is not working.
Who is Participating?
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
The mouse is part of the keyboard and may be defective. Keyboards on Thinkpads are easily replaceable and in a new(ish) machine, Lenovo will often do it for free.

I would first remove the keyboard and re-seat the connectors carefully. Put the keyboard back in and see if (a) it works, and (b) if not, does it look OK in Device Manager (probably not).

does this model have a button to disable the touchpad, if so press the button may reenable the touchpad.

you can test if it works when booted from a live knoppix cd : ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/knoppix/KNOPPIX_V6.7.0CD-2011-08-01-EN.iso          Knoppix
