How do I turn off the decimal place option for Excel 2007?

I want to turn off the decimals permanently.  How can I do this?  I want this option to be a default for every worksheet.  Is this possible?  If so, how can I turn it back on if I want a decimal point?

What do you mean, exactly? You want to stop values being displayed with decimal....or being input with decimals.....or both?

I'm not sure that would be possible - can you explain how you want iot to work?

regards, barry

If you want to turn off the display of the decimals in Excel do this:
1. open new, blank workbook
2. select all cells, for example with CTRL+A
3. right-click on any cell and choose Format cells...
4. select Number and decrease Decimal places to zero
5. press OK
6. click Office button, click Save as... then Other formats
7. under Save as type] choose Excel template and name the template so you can identify it later
8. click Save

You're done! To create a workbook based on previous template open Excel, click Office button and choose New, click My templates and choose your template.
Now Excel does not display decimals.
To prevent floating point rounding errors you can further enable Set precision as displayed in Excel options, under Advanced, below When calculating this workbook section.

Hope it helps.
