Open a laptop has been always harder than the desktop, I am not sure if it is the same for everyone.

I have a laptop Gateway NV53.<br />
I have a problem with the left-click of the mouse or the excute.<br />

the laptop has a mouse in a shape of rectangle to excute a command when you select an object or a link , it also has below the rectangle a thin rectangluar bar which also serves for left-click and right click of the mouse<br />
I can move the mouse around, I can select an object or a link, but when I click on either on the rectangle to excute or left side of the thin rectangular bar to excute a command or a link then nothing happens.<br />

Any help on how to fix that?<br />
