LapTop Gateway NV53 mouse issue

I have a laptop Gateway NV53.
I have a problem with the left-click of the mouse or the excute.

the laptop has a mouse in a shape of rectangle to excute a command when you select an object or a link , it also has below the rectangle a thin rectangluar bar which also serves for left-click and right click of the mouse
I can move the mouse around, I can select an object or a link, but when I click on either on the rectangle to excute or left side of the thin rectangular bar to excute a command or a link then nothing happens.

Any help on how to fix that?

The only way to investigate the problem effectively is to open the laptop, remove and re-seat the touchpad/touchbar connector, and see if the problem is solved.  If that does not solve the problem, a replacement touchpad/touchbar assembly is required.  Those are usually available as inexpensive spare parts on fleabay.

A workaround is to use a USB mouse.  Some touchpads will treat a double-tap as a left click; this is another possible workaround.

Open a laptop has been always harder than the desktop, I am not sure if it is the same for everyone.
