share workbook option in lotus

Currently we use lotus symphony and what we are trying is share a workbook so that multiple users can edit it at the sametime.  Excel has this function, but we unfortunately cannot migrate to excel right now.  Does anyone know how to do this is lotus?

you could look at lotuslive which has true online sharing of a document ala google or office365

Although the sharing in Excel is available it is usually more trouble as have had numerous corruptions or saving issues with this feature. If there is anything except an absolute perfect network connection it goes wrong.

I would always suggest one of the online solutions for sharing or a server based solution that is designed for the purpose.

That said, OpenOffice v3.0 does include a similar to excel functionality within Calc and Symphony is updated to v3.0 in Release 8.5.3 of Notes.
I have not tested this release yet with symphony but worth getting the update.

Ya but dont you have to pay for lotus live?
Also where in lotus symphony is that share function?  I cannot find it and I do have the latest version of lotus V3
In Open Office 3.0 it is under Tools->Share Document after saving the document in .ODS format

In Symphony within Notes 8.5.2 I cannot find any equivelant option and looking through symphony release otes it looks like it was supposed to be added in some time ago but has not made the releases. No reason given.

Lotus Live is a costed option unfortunately.

You could download OpenOffice directly and use that as it does have the functionality your after.
