exchange 2010 database not monted during setup

HI,

I tried to setup Microsoft Exchange and got a error on setup in last stage saying database failed to mount.

Im looking now and log is showing

"Active Manager failed to mount database Mailbox Database 1857728858 on server exchange.cnet.local. Error: An Active Manager operation failed. Error: The database was never mounted."

It passed all the other tests on install but stuck on last stage.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

I think your dag couldn't find files on disk in order to begin replication, so :

1- create the database (not within a DAG)
2- mount the database  once   ( this step only creates .edb file and .log on disk )
3- then add this database in the DAG

Im quite new to exchange 2010 is there a step by step any where in doing the proces you have suggested ?
Did you create the database availability group because I wasn't aware you could install this at the time of install. If setup completed and you instantly tried to creat a dag then the first database might not have mounted.

Go into emc and drill down to organisation\mailbox servers and look at the status of the database there.

Right click mount database if it's not mounted.
Should the setup have created the database vailabilty group ?
No you build the server first then create the dag
